Why do cats always follow you into the bathroom?
If you have a cat at home, you may have gotten used to the scene - you just walked to the toilet, the cat immediately “whoosh” followed, and justifiably sat in the doorway, or even jumped directly to the washbasin or toilet, as if to carry out a major task. This is not a coincidence, but the nature and habits of cats at work.
First of all, cats are natural “curious detectives”. Toilet in their eyes is a mysterious and full of smell of the new territory, every time you go in, close the door, as if they are in a secret activities they are not allowed to participate in, and this is a curious cat is simply intolerable.

Secondly, cats are territorial animals and you are the most important part of their territory. They follow you into the restroom not only to guard you, but also to make sure you're in their line of sight - after all, being alone in an enclosed space is not a safe option in a cat's perception.
Finally, the toilet also has a wonderful “socializing property” for cats. In this relatively quiet, undisturbed space, the distance between you and your cat is shortened, and your cat is more likely to be noticed and petted. Also, some cats like to listen to the sound of running water and smell fresh odors, which turns the toilet into a “playground” for them.

So the next time your cat follows you into the toilet, don't be confused - it's just its own way of getting involved in your life and reminding you that you are the most important “territory” in its world.
